As predicted IM Mas has no problem to overcome all his rival in this year SCC Rapid Grand Finale with a perfect 7 points. Among his opponents were Kamaluddin Yusof, Mohd Khair Wahiduddin, NM Zarul Shazwan Zullkafli and AM Ahmad Fadzil Nayan. 2nd place goes to Kamaluddin Yusof while 3rd place goes to NM Zarul Shazwan Zullkafli after a win againts Muhd Syazwan Zulkifli in the final round. 4th place goes to AM Ahmad Fadzil Nayan. Mengenali Presiden PCNK saudara Kamal Azmi Wahiddudin (46) merupakan abang Sulung kepada pemain Negara iaitu NM Kamal Arifin, NWM Nurul Huda & NWM Khairunisa. Sejarah penubuhan Persatuan Catur Daerah Kuantan yang baru ditubuhkan pada 3 tahun dahulu, mula menampakkan benih minat pemain daripada kalangan generasi yang baru.

Keahlian : 55 orang

Tugas Persatuan: Mengadakan Klinik catuk untuk pendedahan asas kepada pemain terutama pemain remaja di peringkat sekolah.

Pecatur cilik, ZULKARNAIN SAFRI (9) murid sekolah Muadzam Shah tidak gentar menghadapi peserta yang lebih dewasa daripada usianya. Gaya permainan terbuka dan tektikal ‘e4’ amat digemarinya di bawah bimbingan Jurulatih Khairunnisa dan Mohd Khir Wahiddudin. Ayahnya Cikgu Safri Abdul Razak menyedari anaknya mula bermain catur ketika pra-sekolah pada usia 6 tahun dan dikesan bakatnya oleh Cikgu Zamri.

Kg Aur oleh Cikgu Zamri. Kini adik Ummu Hani telah bertukar ke Sekolah Kebangsaan Muadzam Shah, dimana kemudahan Kelab Catur Sekolah ada disana, dibawah bimbingan Cikgu Fadzilah Wahiddudin.

On friday 23rd December 2011, there will be talk/workshop by IM Mas Hafizul on how he use Chessbase as his tool in trainings.

Time: 2.30pm - 5pm
Venue: Setia Chess Centre (SCC)
Only member's of SCC, PCDK and KCK are invited to join the workshop.

The Tournament

This will be the last serie of the SSC GP where only the top 5 players in each serie will be allowed to participate. Among players in this year Grand Finale edition will be our Malaysia's No 1 IM Mas Hafizulhilmi and a newly crowned Asia Amateur's champion Ahmad Fadzil Nayan. I presume it will not be an easy ride for all the players in becoming the 1st winner of the SSC GP Finale. Besides all the finalist PCDK and SCC have also selected 9 junior players to compete against their seniors. Hopefully they will gain some experience competing in this tournament and why not becoming one of the prize winner. Perhaps the organizer would like to see more players in 2012 series and hopefully it will be a yearly event that we all have been waiting for.

Finale will be held one day on 24 December 2011 at Setia Chess Centre Jalan Lim Hoe Lek Kuantan. First round will begin at 9 am and the prize giving ceremony is estimated to start around 6.45 pm. The time control will be 20 minutes plus 10 second for each move. It's great to know that the organizer will provide breakfast, lunch and tea to the Finale participants. The winner for this year Finale will bring home RM1,000 in cash. Chief Arbiter for this year Kuatan Rapid Grand Finale is En Najib Wahab (candidate FIDE Arbiter).
